Phil followed a degree in Media and Communications with two years as public relations manager for the Royal Oman Police. He spent six years working for regional newspapers and the following two years with a local marketing agency, before setting up Quiet Storm Consultants Limited in 1990.

He holds the CIM Diploma and is a member of the CIPR. His interests include golf (12 handicap), writing and counselling.
